Christina Applegate has Breast Cancer

The beautiful Christina Applegate is undertaking treatment for breast cancer. Ame Van Iden, her publicist, gave a statement to PEOPLE magazine "Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery."

An announcement confirming the diagnosis was delivered by a representative of the on "Extra," the celebrity news show: "Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery."

Last month it was announced that the actress will participate in Stand Up to Cancer, What irony! Applegate's mother is also a breast cancer survivor, so it could be hereditary. But she is just 36-year-old! There are so many women who are been have or have had breast cancer. Remember there is Olivia Newton John, Melissa Etheridge and  Kylie Minogue just to name a few!

Christina is known for playing Kelly Bundy on the long-running FOX Broadcasting Company sitcom Married... with Children. I loved her in that show, she was so dumb but funny at the same time. She has since established a film and television career, with major roles in several pictures, such as Farce of the Penguins, Anchorman, The Sweetest Thing, a Broadway revival of the musical Sweet Charity and is the lead character, Samantha Newly, in the ABC sitcom Samantha Who?
