"Dancing with the Stars" turned country singer Julianne Hough, took home the Top New Artist ACM Award in Las Vegas last night, Sunday, after tearing the back of her gown, with a mix of laughter and tears. She was so shocked and emotional to accept the award. Hough gushed in her acceptance speech, "It's a good thing I ripped my dress, because now I have something else to think about." The rip in her dress didn't stop Hough from celebrating and expressing gratitude to her fans, with a slight laugh, giggle, and cry she thanked, "Everybody who has followed and believed in me -- and I can't thank you enough, especially to the fans."
Hough, who was at the 44th Annual ACMs with boyfriend and Dancing with the Stars partner Chuck Wicks, received a standing ovation from the ACM audience as she accepted her award. Other celebrities to show up at the ACM Awards included Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy. Hough had announced she would not return to DWTS this season and will concentrate to pursue her singing career. Hough's self-titled album has produced two hit singles, including "My Halllelujah Song," and debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard country chart last May.
